DaWanda M. Bittle is proud to be born and raised in the Queen City, Charlotte, NC. A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with concentrations in both Marketing and Management. While at UNC Charlotte, DaWanda was a 4 year member of the Gold Dusters Dance Team and served as one of the Co-Captains for 3 of her 4 years.

Professionally, DaWanda recently celebrated 28 years of service with a national bank, where she has served in many different roles, including Financial Sales Specialist, licensed sales banker and loan officer, Financial Sales Leader and Sales Manager for 100+ team members. DaWanda has since pivoted her career to technology and currently serves as a Senior Scrum Master.

DaWanda joined the TopCats in 1997 and cheered through the 2006 season. She is 1 of 3 total to cheer for 10 consecutive seasons equating to 102 games cheered.  She feels privileged to have been selected by her teammates and staff as a Captain for 5 of her 10 seasons.  “It was always my pleasure to serve my line and my TC sisters in general. Serving as a role model for others and especially my rookies made me happy. I wanted everyone to succeed and enjoy the experience. So if there was something I could do to help, I did it!”  She also cherishes her time spent as a TopCat with  unforgettable moments—performing at Super Bowl XXXVIII, perhaps the best and most exciting Super Bowl played to date. Traveling with the TopCat Show Team to Ft. Hood, TX, Eglin Air Force Base in Florida and a highlight traveling internationally to London where she performed for the NFL Europe as they celebrated Super Bowl XXXIX.  While serving as a TopCat, “I was thrilled when I got to serve as a positive role model for young girls. Influencing them and sharing that when they make positive lifestyle choices that can lead them to do anything their hearts  and minds can think of.” Further, creating friendships and a sisterhood that lasts for a lifetime. She understands this opportunity is not afforded to everyone and to this day still feels blessed to have served in this role.

Since hanging up her Poms, DaWanda has continued to stay involved by being invoked in auditions and field assisting. She was also voted in as TopCats Alumni President. There she  worked in conjunction with others to put on the annual meetings and tailgates, TopCat Olympics, several Powder puff football games and yoga events. She was honored to be one of the charter members of the NFCAO and cast her vote to bring about the National chapter for a combined NFL cheer alumni association. As president of the TCA, she represented Carolina at the national reunions and it’s still her goal to increase our CPFCAA participation there.  After realizing our alumni association can accomplish more by organizing as a non-profit club, I partnered with many to found CPFCAA. She finds it a pleasure to see this beautiful sisterhood grow and confirmed incorporating was the only way to do so. In 2024, CPFCAA was established. And today DaWanda serves as The Board of Directors Chair.  “It is without words that I am happy to do what it takes to see this organization thrive because of what the TopCat program has offered me”.

In her spare time, DaWanda enjoys spending time with her family and friends and is still serving in the community that she calls home, Charlotte, NC.
